With how long this Otyough had evaded capture, Tetrosabier was contemplating leaving and just filling the sewer with enough of the poison that it would intoxicate the beast.
He had been in the sewers for almost 6 days. He had been after this creature for nearly a week and still wasn't any closer to finding this beast. He had tried everything from traps to just searching.
Sitting by his fire, Tetrosabier was cooking a rat. He would never even think about cooking a rat for is own consumption, but seeing the charred rat corpses left behind by the monster, he figured that that must be their preferred meal.
The green powder he had thrown at the ground ignited quickly and burned brightly, burning half of the sticks he had tried to skewer the rat with. The roaring flames crackling loudly, the echos resonating through out the damp and cold sewers. The rat sat above the fire, roasting and charring. Tetrosabier sat, staring at the roof, dreaming of what he would do once he got out of these sewers.
Over in the darkness a figure moved. Jumping quickly to his feet, he whipped the weapon from off his back. Lighting up his blade the sound of the plasma crackling quickly overpowered that of the roaring fire. The bright purple beam of energy cascading light into the darkness. The small rat that had scurried towards a morsel of food scurried off terrified. Tetrosabier sighed. Turning back towards the fire, he sat back down. He powered down his sword, holstering it. Turning the rat over with the stick, he scanned his surroundings. The darkness illuminated in flickers, the green tint making everything seem sicker. The slimy walls dripped with algae. Turning back towards the rat, ready to flip it over again, he saw a small goblin reaching towards it.
At this point two thoughts crossed his mind, first was that that goblin was taking his bait and second that the rat had been poisoned, to kill the beast.
