Killing Time [Vexx - Hacker Event]

The large figure reached out towards the pretty woman as a little man pushed her out of the way. Artemis watched in horror, as he instantly turned to dust in front of her. She stared at the lump and considered dumping the potion on him. Finally deciding he was probably too far gone to be brought back with a potion, and better to not waste such a useful item. She turned to where the crowd was to see that almost everyone had logged off. That's when she heard the announcement. Artemis froze in place as a loud synthesized laugh echoed behind her. She turned to face the hacker and thought hard. She had an idea... but she wasn't going to like it. She turned to face the skeleton man and lifted her mace.     "HEY DICKWAD" she yelled trying to get his attention. Running forwards she activated her acrobatic feat. As she came close enough to hit him, she slid on the ground to ensure he couldn't touch her.     "DON'T BE FUCKING RUDE" she yelled as she struck his left leg with much force.

Death's horse veered to the right as it was commanded to just as a large wall of ice blocked the fiery goblin's exploding self.  Was this cute little fluffy figure protecting the hacking bastard?  Was that why the hacker had teleported behind her?  Were we dealing with 2 people then?  So many questions, so little time.

Looking over at the Naga and Hacker Creation fighting reminded Death that his summon could probably use some help still.  

"Souls of the departed, hear my cry!  The hour of need is nigh!
Grab your foe, hold it tight; Bring it down with all your might!"

Arms covered in moss, earth and decaying flesh rose from the ground around the monstrous creature; the smell of rotted earth and ozone rose into the air as the corpse arms sprouted out like daisies after a spring rain.  

The Dark Naga which had clearly begun to lose the fight now had a slight advantage over the creation.  The powerful arms and legs of the creature were getting grasped and held over and over.  Each time an arm would be ripped asunder by the power of the creature, another arm would show up and grab again.  The monstrosity continued to struggle against it's bonds, no longer able to pay attention to the Naga momentarily.
It was at this time that the Naga, seeing it's opportunity, quickly coiled and launched itself at the monster's upper body and constricting around the head and neck.  Arms outstretched to grab the head in a vice, body coiled tightly around the neck, the Naga attempted to pull the head free from the body.

"Players in this area are asked to log off while a problem with the game is assessed. Thank you for your understanding."

"Are you kidding me!?!?  It's just getting interesting!" Death exclaimed aloud.  

Looking around at the surroundings, Death saw that most characters were slowly blipping out of existence as they followed the commands of the Devs to log off when he heard to his left,

"HEY DICKWAD... DON'T BE FUCKING RUDE"

Drake laughed out loud.  "That person just called them a dickwad...  I haven't heard that in such a long time!  YOU GO!!"

Whipping his head around, Death spun just in time to see the origin of the voice swinging her mace at the hacker and smacking into his leg with a sickening and squishing thud.  The size of this... was that an orc?  Who played orcs?  Ew... they're nastier than Necromancers.  Oh well, at this point in time, we could use nasty.
Death kept his horse on it's track in the wide right turn till it had turned far enough to start heading back towards the orc and the hacker.

Delilah sighed with relieve that the shield hold, just barely but everyone seemed to come out of it unscathed. It was a shame about the player that saved her though. Hopefully she will find the person again one day and then she will give him a big hug and maybe her best cake she made at that time.

Another thing she hoped for was for the fighting to stop. Especially since the official announcement has been sounded. She would still hold off logging off until she was sure that everyone else was safe. That hope was dashed as quickly as the orc lady charging in, mace held high and ready to smash.

“Wait! Please don’t fight! We could talk these out!” she shouted. It was absolutely futile, her shield was now on cool down and she was too slow to bodily intercept the attack anyways. Delilah scrolled through her inventory, pulling up more health potions. She could already foresee some injuries although she was not sure where it would be.

As a last ditch effort to get everyone to stop fighting, she put up the biggest and the wateriest puppy-dogs eyes to everyone in the area. It’s not really a real skill in game, but if it managed to work on her sis in real life, it probably could work here.

The other players are not logging off, and if the hacker had a face with which to make expressions it might have shown his ire at this development. As it was his blue eyes began to glow even more brightly with a fel light. Even without flesh on his bones its clear that he is not happy. It's not hard to see why.

The orcish player makes a beeline toward him, and the hacker is ill prepared for a head-on onslaught. The blow lands with a sickening crack that sends him to his knees, but only for a moment as the hacker pulls a vial out of thin air and drinks it down. Slowly he rises once more, turning that gaze on the orc whom brought him low.

"There will be no discussion. You will die."

His voice booms out as he reaches for Artemis, stalking her like the prey that she has become. Time slows around him, the world lagging harshly so that it's even less possible for her to escape his deadly grasp. Everyone feels the effect of it except for him; he wades through the lag with the calm disposition of the inevitable.

Even the naga feels the lag, and Monstero takes full advantage of its slowed state to break free of the naga's deadly grasp. Stumbling backwards from the naga Monstero is clearly injured; its bones are cracked in several places, but being undead its injuries seem to bother it little and it makes its way with surprising speed toward its master.

Watching the world seize and stutter around her she turned around to watch the figure,  somehow not affected by the lag reach out and touch her.  Her ability went off sending her flying backwards in a triple somersault, still glitching.  She stood as strong and straight as before.  Turning around slowly she stared at the man before her,   That's all he is... a man she thought.  Readying her mace once again she shouted at this figure.

"I don't think..." She said as she enlarged her mace, vines exploding from the base of her weapon and spiraling upwards towards the chain.  The small thorns embedded onto the chain shot outwards creating triangular blades.  The bud blossomed becoming a bright shade of red that sparkled brightly.  The fire in her eyes blazed intimidatingly.  Her stance became very large and less like that of a scared little girl. "...you heard me..." she looked towards the blank sky raising the now very large rose to the sky.  Bringing it behind her head she repeated for the last time.

"...DON'T BE..." she wipped it downward.  "...FUCKING..." it landed with a sickening thud.  "...RUDE!"

Things around her were happening too fast for her to deal with. For a moment she wished that things would slow down, just to let her catch up, just to give her some time to deal with three very obviously angry people. However when it did happen, Delilah find herself unable to move from the spot. Every images around her were stuttering in and out of focus. She tried to access her inventory again, but it refused to open. It left her with only the health potion at hand. Even then she doesn’t quite know where she should be flinging it.

The Orc lady seemed to be doing just fine, and returned to attacking much to Delilah’s dismay. Another guy, who probably summoned the pretty naga, was probably too far away to be noticed by the skeleton man. Maybe. Still, she wanted to make sure no one gets hurt from this rowdy scuffle. She cast Divine Protection on the orc lady, hopefully the spell will reach her in time and take on any damage that she might get. She kept trying to access her inventory tab, maybe she would be able to grab a speed potion or something for the other guy.

Once again his target evaded his grasp, and the hacker doesn't seem the least bit pleased with this latest development. The orc slides away from him with surprising speed; clearly under the effect of one of her own skills leaving him hovering there where she'd been and glaring at her with his eyeless sockets burning with blue light. She gets to her feet and her weapon begins to grow, and the hacker sees the threat there before it has a chance to fully form.

Monstero is right behind him, bending down and scooping him up in its arms and thrusting the necromancer into its chest. The hacker hovers there, armored now by his summon and when her blow lands it glances off of cracked bone. Grimly the skeletal face of the hacker grins at her, at all of them and shakes his head.

One bone hand rises, but before he can speak or do anything else the area crowds with security officers. "Freeze! Freeze! Don't move!"

A cold laughter spills out of the skull of the hacker and he shakes his head, mumbling something under his breath that is completely unheard by those around him. Then his hand falls and a blue light appears around him and his summon. A step, and the light vanishes, taking the hacker away without a single word of farewell.

Though it seems that those left in his wake have more than enough to deal with.
